MovNat is a system of training based on cultivating the skills and quality of physical fitness that are natural and innate to all human being, but easily lost when we get swept up by the conveniences of modern living. 

Our bodies are not meant to be this disconnected from nature, living in a sterile and artificial environment. Our biology demands movement and a raw connection to nature in order to maintain balance.

If you remember being a child, running, jumping, climbing, and finding creative ways to use your environment to move? This is Natural Movement.

At MovNat, we practice and teach Natural Movement in a progressive, well-structured way, with lots of technical breakdown, and an emphasis of cultivating efficiency in movement and a mindful body awareness in practice. Anyone can benefit from improving their Natural Movement, from elite athletes, to the average person just starting (or restarting) their fitness journey. You don't need to be fit to move, but you need to move to be fit.

MovNat is a global organization that was founded by Erwan Le Corre in 2009, with thousands of practitioners worldwide to date. Alex is one of a handful of core team members who lead the 3-5 day courses to certify prospective new trainers. He is passionate about cultivating the MovNat community and supporting new practitioners as they embark on their MovNat journey. MovNat Personal Training
In-Person or Online

MovNat Personal Training

A personalized program and guidance to develop your natural fitness; to reclaim the practical movement skills that should be innate to all human beings, and become conditioned to endure higher levels of intensity, volume, and complexity when the need may arise. This training is right for you if you want something deeper than aesthetic goals, and something more relevant to movement in the real world than arbitrary fitness exercises.  You may want to develop your overall natural fitness ability and level of conditioning, or focus on improving or unlocking a specific skill, such as running technique, climbing skills, ground movement, or other techniques. Watch your body transform to reflect the changes in how you move your body, not only when training, but in everything you do in daily life.

These sessions can be as frequent as 3 times per week, or as infrequent as once a month, and they can be ongoing or short-term. This all depends on your specific needs and how much energy you would like to put into it. Training sessions can be at your home, at our movement center, or in many public outdoor spaces. Online coaching is also available.


MovNat-Based Parkour Classes


MovNat Classes

In this class we will focus on the skills of locomotion, particularly obstacle traversal. This includes balancing, jumping, vaulting, ground movement, climbing, as well as other skills that develop practical real-world functionality, flow, and freedom of movement. This can be approached from the perspective of play, that of functional fitness, and/or with the mindset of evasion for self-protection.

Parkour and MovNat have a common ancestor; the method called Méthode Naturelle created by French Naval officer, Georges Hebert, which shaped what we know now as the modern day military obstacle course. Everything in the fundamental Parkour skillset traces its roots back to Méthode Naturelle, but Hebert's method also included lifting, carrying, throwing, and catching, objects, fighting, and swimming. MovNat's role is to revise the 100+ year old Méthode Naturelle to better suit our modern era, and involves a very pragmatic approach to learning new skills.

We approach our Parkour classes through the MovNat lens, which is adaptive and approachable for everyone.

MovNat Elements Workshop
Full Day Immersion

Learn the Building Blocks of Natural Movement

Take the opportunity to experience an immersive full day workshop taught by Ontario's only MovNat Master Trainer. Our one day workshops are designed to introduce you to Natural Movement, and give you the most important basics that you can practice in your daily life. We will focus on areas that need the most improvement and we will teach you routines that you can use and practice at home in twenty or thirty minutes a day. This is a great introduction, as well as a perfect MovNat immersion for those who love and practice it! 


  • 6 hours of professional instruction, including short lunch and snack breaks

  • Safe, step-by-step progressions for all ages, abilities, and fitness levels

  • MovNat’s principles, and how they will change how you think about the way you move

  • Understanding MovNat’s approach to developing movement skill --and improving fitness

Take Your Natural movement Practice to the Next Level

MovNat provides three levels of certification that will guide you to both effectively learn and teach Natural Movement. Our certifications are the industry standard for natural physical education. If you are serious about becoming a proficient practitioner of Natural Movement – this is what you do.


The MovNat Level 1 Certification program introduces the fundamental principles, movements and methodology of Natural Movement Fitness. Students learn how to train themselves and others using the MovNat method through home study materials, class lectures, beginner-level practice sessions and competency tests. Whether you’re an enthusiast or an experienced professional, Level 1 is the ideal starting point on your journey to becoming Strong By Nature. All abilities are welcome.

The Level 1 and Level 2 certification are scheduled back-to-back, so if you're all in and you want to do both the Level 1 and Level 2 Certifications together, it's quite the immersive experience (5 days of straight MovNat!) and signing up for the 2 certification courses gets you a hefty discount over doing them one at a time.
