Mobility Development for Lower Back & Hips

This course of 4 classes focuses on relieving lower back and hip tension, and increasing range of motion and mobility. Sotai Movement Therapy, Meridian Stretching, and joint conditioning are integrated to help you learn how to restore natural alignment, and rebalance your body.

About the Event

This course will teach you how to use a variety of complementary methods to help mobilize your lower body, circulate your energy, and support your body's natural healing process. Each class will include the following aspects.

Joint Conditioning

  • Feet & ankles
  • Knees & hips
  • Lower back and spine

Meridian Stretching

  • Whole body flexibility opening all 12 of the main functional lines of tension
  • Gentle stretches with deep breathing and variations for those with mobility issues

Sotai Exercise

  • Structural realignment exercise
  • Simple active mobilizations to balance the left and right sides of the body
  • Synchronization with movement and breath to deepen body-breath-mind connection

Self-Shiatsu

  • Self-administered pressure point therapy for relieving abnormal tension
  • Short routine for the lower back, hips, thighs, and core

By the end of this course you will have a grasp of the methods we studied, a plethora of corrective and restorative exercises to add to your "toolbox", a short daily routine that you can continue to practice, resources where you can review what we covered in the course, and most likely a more limber, relaxed body with stronger joints.
